Xiaomi Redmi 5 4GB RAM Variant Launched For CNY 1,099 ( Approx. ₹11,000)

Xiaomi Redmi 5 was unveiled in China last year in December. Since then, the phone was available in two storage variants. The 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant was priced at CNY 799 (Rs 7,800 approx) and the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant comes at CNY 899 (Rs 8,800 approx.). Now the company has quietly released another variant of the same with 4 GB RAM and 32 storage. The phone comes in black, gold, or blue color options.

The new variant has been priced at CNY 1099 which is approximately Rs 11,000. It is unknown that when it will come to India but it is already available on Xiaomi’s online store of China for purchase. The new variant does not show much variety regarding specifications.

Recalling the specifications of the device, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Under the hood, the device has a Snapdragon 450 which is clubbed with 4GB of RAM. For keeping the fun going, the phone comes with a battery of 3,300 mAh battery. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device, just below the camera.

Coming to the optics, it flaunts a 12 MP camera on the rear panel while there is a 5 MP front camera for selfies and video-calling. The sensors onboard are a Light sensor, a Proximity sensor, an Accelerometer, a Compass, a Gyroscope and a fingerprint sensor. The device comes with MIUI 9.1 plastered atop Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
